- Documentation for the Eye of the Beholder III - Savegame editor
- ***************************************************************
-
-
- EOB3EDIT is an editor for Eye of the Beholder III - Assault on
- Myth Drannor. It allows you to change almost everything in your
- savegames, for example all character-attributes and the
- inventory.
-
- To use the editor, just copy the eob3edit.exe file into your
- \EOB3 directory.
-
- To start the editor, just type 'eob3edit', it will list
- the savegames found on your harddisk and ask you to select one.
- Type a number between 1 and 12 to do so.
-
- *** NOTE: The editor must be run from the EOB3 directory,
- otherwise it won't be able to locate your savegames on the
- harddisk.
-
- The editor-scrreen for the first of your characters will appear.
- Here, you can edit all the character-attributes by typing the
- corresponding number between 1 and 21.
-
- Most of the attributes don't need further explanation.
- Here's just some information about 21 to 24 (Inventory 1-4).
- These stand for the first four slots of your character's
- inventory (the first and the second row counting from the top).
- The number which stands there says what object is in that slow.
- Every object in this game is identified by a number between 0
- and 65535. Of course, not every number has a corresponding
- object.
- A lot of objects can be found in range of 768 - 1023. I didn't
- compile a list of object-numbers; if somebody is going to do so,
- please let me have a copy.
- Anyway, you can use the inventory-option to 'copy' interesting
- objects in the game. Just put the object to copy in one of the
- first four slots, load the editor, get the object-number and
- rewrite it in one of the free slots.
-
- *** NOTE: Any object in the slot, where you enter the new object
- number will be overwritten, so be careful. Empty slots have the
- "object-number" 65535.
-
- If you modify your character's hitpoints and enter values above 100,
- sometimes the EOB3-program has difficulties on showing the new values
- in bar graphs or in numbers (the screen is filled green or parts of
- the character's lower weapon-hand are not shown.)
- If that happens, try out which setting (bar graphs or numbers) works
- better. This "error" isn't due to the editor, it's due to the
- EOB3-program.
-
- The entries Experience 2 / Level 2 / Experience 3 / Level 3 are for
- multi-class characters only. I recommend that you don't change the
- values entered there if you character isn't a multi-class character.
-
- The other editor-commands are the following:
- N The data of the next character in your party is loaded into
- the editor.
- S Saves your changes to the savegame, then quits the program.
- Q Quits the program without saving your changes.
-
-
- *** DISCLAIMER: I've tested out the editor very carefully.
- Nevertheless, errors are always possible and I can't accept
- any responsibility for damage resulting from the use of this
- program.
-
- EOB3EDIT is FREEWARE. So, no registration-fee must be paid.
